Sustaining Responsible Success by Providing Quality Products and Service to Members and Customers
The Farmers Cooperative Association was established in 1923, as a Wyoming corporation organized and operated on a cooperative basis for the purpose of supplying a variety of products to its patrons and members. Products range from farm & ranch supplies and hardware to petroleum products and feed. This Gillette Cooperative also operates a licensed grain warehouse and buys wheat and oats from local producers.
Revenues in excess of operating costs and expenses are allocated to members on a patronage basis. Transfers of patronage are permitted only with the approval of the Board of Directors. Anyone can be a member; however, voting membership is limited to agricultural producers.
There are several locations in Gillette, Wyoming - the grain elevator and feed warehouse at 207 East 1st Street; the corporate offices, a western store offering ranch supplies, a self-serve gas station, tire repair, and propane bottle fill, at 1206 South Douglas Highway; bulk fuels and propane plants, a card operated self-service fuel station, and truck maintenance yard at 3605 Hackathorne; and grain bins at 1209 East Lincoln Street. Bulk propane and bulk fuels plants in Sundance complete the physical plant locations of FCA. Bulk delivery of feed, fuel and propane are also offered to customers in NE Wyoming.
The cooperative is owned by the customers we serve. That defines the organization structure. The Farmers Cooperative Association is owned by the local rancher-members of our community who, once every year, elect nine of their members to serve on a Board of Directors. The cooperative is managed by a General Manager, selected by the Board of Directors, to staff and manage the business in the interest of the member-owners, under the policies and procedures established and approved by the Board of Directors.
Customers are among the organization's most valuable assets. Every employee is hired to provide quality and courteous service to those customers in a safe and responsible way. Customers who wish to contact FCA regarding service, employment, or help can direct comments to the General Manager at the Corporate Office, or any of the Department Managers of the different business segments. Ownership or member issues can be directed to any member of the Board of Directors.
The values that drive the direction of our company and guide our decisions are:
Safety: We will not harm ourselves, each other, our customers or the environment.
Honesty: We will be fair, truthful, and ethical in all of our business practices.
Customer Service: We will communicate openly and effectively giving quality service to all internal and external customers.
Teamwork: We will work together with compassion and loyalty, treating each other as we would want to be treated.
Leadership: We will anticipate, adapt, and grow to the changing needs of our communities
Ongoing success requires FCA to adjust to the changing needs of the communities and customers we serve, while maintaining competitive price structures allowing the management and Board to maintain the business, and grow into the future. Safety to ourselves and others, including environmental awareness, is a responsibility we all share. We thank you for visiting our website, and we look forward to serving your needs.
